Knowing that the Palms had changed hands once again, I felt it was necessary to give it another try. I booked a room at the Cosmopolitan but shortly thereafter learned of an incredible deal to stay in a suite at the Palms for essentially the same money. On a whim, I decided to book a quick solo getaway.

However, the last time I stayed there was in 2017 when it was owned by Stations.and I vowed I'd never return. As time went on, we started staying elsewhere beginning in 2010, but always loved the Palms and returned occasionally. When Palms Place opened, I stayed there because it was the best of the best (San Manuel PLEASE update this place and bring it back to its former glory!!). We loved everything about it and between myself and my family, we probably stayed there 50 times from 2002-2010 (and a few times since)(our host moved to the Cosmopolitan in 2010 and we once again followed). Historically, we had stayed at the Hard Rock (back in its heyday) but when our host and good friend moved from the Hard Rock to the Palms, we followed. The first time I stayed at the Palms was in early 2002, just months after opening. Las Vegas trip #40 found me at the Palms in early December, and I couldn't have been happier to return. I'm guessing this shrimp is cheaper but it's not good quality and I know my shrimp! We will give it another try though. It's terrible! If they changed this one thing, my rating would have been much higher. I have never seen this kind of shrimp that had the heads on it and they taste mushy and gritty and that was a huge disappointment because I am a shrimp lover! I have been to many buffets all over the country and I have never seen any place that offered this kind of shrimp. I was pleased with everything they had except the shrimp. The bad part is that there is an insanely long line! The later it gets, the longer it gets. Everything was fresh and looked appetizing. I walked around and looked at all the food and I was surprised at how good everything looked. So when I've never been to a certain buffet before I ask to go and take a look at all the food before paying for it. We signed up for a players card and were told if we spent $20 on slots, we would get a free buffet. We went here to see if it was any better since the San Miguel Tribe took it over.
